So, I know folks haven't started thinking about hoops yet, but next week the team starts practicing big time. People, the hoops season is upon us! Midnight madness is taking place all across the country this weekend.

This year I think LSU is sort of becoming a popular "sleeper" pick, as the addition of Trent Johnson and new coaching staff, the return of Tasmin Mitchell, and the return of a senior laden team, has prognosticators generally liking LSU in the SEC West and perhaps as a NCAA bubble type team. Rivals certainly likes 'em...

Only time will tell, but with hopefully some renewed passion for the team first concept and a relatively forgiving schedule, the ball will bounce the right way for Trent's new look Tigers...

I'm definitely ready for the season. I hope the crowds pack the PMAC.

I think we have a great chance to win the west. Alabama gets Ronald Steele back but they lost hendrix. On paper it should be a two team race.

We have talent and I doubt CTJ will let them shoot ridiculous 17' contested jumpers all game.

Yea but you cant count out Miss St, they have some great athletes this year. I think LSU has the advantage in the West.

They should be alright. They lost Hansbrough, Gordon, and Rhodes but Slick Rick will make them competitive. More importantly Scotty Hopson decommitted from them and is going to Tennessee.

    Ole Miss should be decent.

I agree. Though it sucks that 98.1 isn't going to broadcast the games. Hopefully I can catch 100.7. I never really try since we have XM radio or listen to CDs in the truck.

I've been looking forward to this season since the beginning of the summer. I really think that Trent Johnson is the type of guy that can turn LSU around. I'll be out at the PMAC. Will YOU?

i dont get the increased optimism (and its not because i was a brady supporter). its just that there are the same personnel problems---

who's gonna rebound and defend the post?

    who's gonna handle the ball?

i guess this isnt important if you believe ctj is all that.

    here's to hoping he is.:thumb:LSU!:geauxtige
