We weren't paying Herman. We knew he wanted Texas and are too cheap to get in a bidding war. We should have at least bid his salary up to make signing aranda more costly. What fans don't grasp is a true winning program pays for itself 10 fold. The money is irrelevant. If he fails you move on til you find the right one. But you never fucking settle. Especially when you have ample time to land a big hire. Those opportunities are rare. We need some visionaries back before this happens again. Emmert, skip and saban have been long gone. Almost everyone they've hired since have been abject failures. We need someone with a bigger vision for lsu. Not weak minded leaders who kowtow to the first hint of public pressure. Someone that knows success and can stand by a tough decision. This band of bitches we have now will never get us there. That's a fact.
We're all on board for LSU. I'm on the Eaux train, but if he makes some questionable hires and/or disappoints in recruiting, I'm going to have some serious doubts. On the other hand, if he backs into the Sugar Bowl he deserves a lot of credit for putting us in position to capitalize; this is a couple steps down from competing for NCs, but pretty damn good for the situation he walked into.
It is a girlfriend thing. Herman was offered the ring but said he would have to wait to see if his other suitor proposed.
no it's a football recruiting thing. we just told the 5* recruit we'd rather settle for the 2* with zero offers from anyone else that would have happily walked on 2 months from now, because he wants to be here. we did that without even letting any 3 or 4 * guys make an official visit.
No, we spend money on the program. I think we genuinely believed that Fisher and Herman had outpriced themselves, Herman late in the game when Texas came open, and that Eaux with good assistants was better than an up & comer and whole new staff. But keep running your gump mouth, y'all are cocks of the walk right now. Please beat FU and make the SEC proud in the playoff.
Not quite accurate. More like 2-5 star primadonnas or a humble 3 star that looks like a diamond in the rough.
Hope they prove you wrong, but you're too often right. I'm going Mulder on this one. I want to believe. I don't trust fucking Alexander to hire a good AD if we let Alleva go.
No but if i knew that 5*RB was not coming no matter what and was just playing me I'd move on to the next best recruit. It was clear Herman was going to Texass.
