Nothing's shocking these days brother, good to see you though.

    Texas
    Domers
    Florida after mushcramps

Not saying they haven't offered, but that's 3 schools with power bucks and Jimbo hasn't budged and we are the only school making news with him? So I am left wondering why he tops our list when he isn't making noise elsewhere? Likely because we are constantly in the position to back his leverage against his other employer? Guess that can be a favor returned for whatever, but I ask, why is he such a good fit for LSU? I have not seen a good line of reasoning and the only 2 dominating qualities are his offense and QB development which, he is clearly not the QB whisperer. I mean, I guess he is not the worst hire, but I am far from confident he can replicate at LSU/ SEC West what he has achieved in the ACC. Guess I gotta look down the road with ol Jimbo and wonder, what do we look like when an Aranda takes off or the sorts. Can't say I have payed any attention to his hiring practices nor his NCdoubleA politics, but damn man, we are blowing our wad on Jimbo when all we really need is an awesome OC, couple of position coaches and a damn strong recruiting pipeline and we are the shit?

Folks say offensive minded and I get that, but look at O, a world beater for a line coach and recruiting. With his experience and proven ability to learn from a good lesson, he doesn't need to be the "offensive minded" HC we so seek. He needs to manage plans that need managing, prepare kids for the next game and allow his world beater offensive minded offensive coordinator the space to turn this offense around. He has proven in half a dozen games he can do all of just that despite the quality of coaches at hand. If we are gonna blow our wad, blow it on an OC that will get it done. Who is that guy gonna be? We need that guy anyways, so blow it on that guy and let O focus on bringing in the players our 2 awesome coordinators wanna build around. He lost a few, so what because I am not particularly concerned with the outcome from a guy who was handed a mess not handpicked by himself, but more about the guy who could manage the mess that was handed to him in a way that positions us to win. I am more convinced in his qualities to manage success rather than getting in the way of it. Not exactly convinced Jimbo can get out of the way when he needs to get out of the way.

Don't know fellas. We're just shooting the shit here and not one of us is an AD, but perspective is healthy and I do pride myself on finding properly skilled employees. I have never hired a dud and I see qualities in O that I don't or can't see already from Jimbo. So if I am missing it, fill me in.

What I have been trying to say with wit, some humor and sarcasm you did in a very reasoned and lucid way. You have more patients than me for sure. Might be scary but we are in agreement

The Florida loss hurts. His wins have come against the worst of our schedule, his losses to the best of our schedule, and the UF loss was way too self-inflicted. Fisher really seems too expensive for what he brings to the table, but I'd be reluctant to choose Eaux. If he ends up being average then LSU looks weak for several more years. At least Fisher would be a strong move.

Yunno, I get that, I do. But I just cannot bring myself to gauge him specifically on his wins or his losses. Had he built this team over the last 2 recruiting cycles and started THIS season with his players and his staff, I can gauge that, but not simply by what he did in such a short period of time. Accountability for this season is born on so many, too many heads that it is horribly impractical to gauge what happened by just his hand alone. All I can gauge is what did he do to take what was there and put to good use. In those terms, he killed it. I see a person in a jr. leadership position showing the very qualities I wanna see on my management team.

That's because he's a better doctor than you are. I suspect someone will have to explain it to you.

Domers don't have an opening to offer him.
Texas has had one for less than 24 hours.
    Fuck Florida!

I will say this again; O as HC, a big time very proven OC along with keeping Aranda and pay the hell out of both of them and walla. Those 2 losses one to a team no one will beat this year and the other loss to a fired up athletic team motivated to win the SEC east yet again that we out gained by 200 yds. I will not listen to anyone who tries to tell me the coaches lost this game. Sometimes not often its on the players the game against Fla was one of em.
