... according to this article. It's a couple of months old but in case anyone missed it (like me) here you go. Use the 'previous' arrow to go down the list and see info about all of the stadiums. (sorry if already posted) College Football: Ranking the 50 Loudest Stadiums | Bleacher Report
Penn St over Florida? hmmm also, FSU isn't loud at all! It was rather pathetic when I went. And they played Clemson, not some rent a win. No noise at all, unless they were spelling out "F-L-O-R-I-D-A STATE!" There's no way it's louder than bama.
This article, while interesting for conversation, is so objective it isn't even funny. Face it, there are going to be biased voting in this. Unless there was a more scientific experiment (LSU regestering on a seismograph certainly counts as #1, IMO) where they go around every stadium and measure the crowd noise in decibles over the course of the entire season (vs rivals and/or key matchups) and THEN compare them, there's absolutely no merrit to the claim as to who's louder than who.
Yeah I know. It's a bleacher report so you can take it with a grain of salt. The writer has Boise St at #23  Boise st stadium is one of the smallest stadiums in college football, only holds 33,000 fans- they shouldnt even be on the list.
The way to really see what stadium is loudest is to 1) get readings on the average decible level throughout the entire game. 2) get a reading on the highest decible recorded during the game 3) use the results to get the average decible level for both loudest single reading and average sound level for the entire game throughout the season. 4) get a coach's poll to ask them what stadium had the most affect on the visiting team's offense 5) ask the media which stadium is the hardest to get their sound correct for on field interviews. Which stadiums do they have to use special equipment or make special adjustments in order to conduct their routine on field interviews and on field reports.
