I think the Cap One bowl is very likely if LSU wins out. The LSU\Iowa game in 2005 was the highest attended game in the last ten years of the bowl. Including UF\UM last year. You know $$ is everything.
Actually, I think that's more of a Houston Nutt thing rather than an Arkansas thing. Which is why Ole Miss makes me nervous.
In 2004 we threw 3 int's vs florida and won, and in 2005 we threw 2 int's and fumbled 3 times vs florida and won.
Funny the same thing can be said about the Bama defense--they actually CAUSED 2 of those INT's thrown by Lee. But some of you guys are quick to throw Lee under the bus and say "well, IF we had a QB, we would have won". I still haven't seen any credit to Alabama's D...Just using Lee as an excuse for losing.
Because you didnt put any pressure what so ever on the QB he just made is usually ever game mistakes.
One of those INT's was because he was absolutely smashed in the backfield as he was releasing the ball, causing it to go about 20' high and land in LB Rolando McClain's hands. Another ball was caught by a reciever and what do you know, Rolando McClain clocked him, causing the ball to come out into Rashad Johnson's hands. Lee played the rollout to the right side almost every play, which bought him time. His pick 6 was a bad throw but what kind of effort did the team give to bring Johnson down. He was untouched for over 50 yards for a TD. On 3rd and (i cant remember how far), why in the hell do you call a play like what was called in OT? With a QB that is having problems like he's had, can you possibly tell me that play was a good coaching decision? Run a draw, take the 3 points....and make Bama beat you with a FG from a struggling kicker--that just had the game winner blocked. That seems more logical. LSU fans are too hard on Lee for this game and not looking at the big picture.
I'll give you that one! But that and there was I think 1 more QH on Lee. Not much pressure for a #1 ranked D! WRONG. The ball was thrown 2 yards behind Byrd on the slant route and hit him in the right sholder as he was running away from it the ball was already in the air when the hit from McClain happened. Lee is horrible and has taken steps backwards since the Auburn game!
Just watched it again on DVR. Byrd had the catch...Would have been positive yards had McClain not hit him. And you also didn't answer my question...Why would you make that play call if Lee is so bad? Also, we're not the #1 defense in the nation.
