Basing it off of the 1999 season. My first season to really go to a lot of games. Toward the end, you couldn't pay people to take tickets which made it great for me because I never had any. I just can't imagine we are the best in the country in loyalty due to that season. Not saying we aren't loyal, just saying the best is a strong word in this case.
And yet we were still #11 in the nation for average attendance that year. In fact, LSU was never lower than 20 in average attendance and only out of the top 10 nine times since 1957. Fans still go to the games regardless, but the wannabee's stop going, affording more fans the opportunity to go.
If they went by ticket sales, we were a pretty loyal group. Finished 12th in the country in paid attendance in '99 (yeah I looked it up). That during the season we broke the school record losing streak. Makes us look pretty loyal. Averaged 21k more than USC did that year.
Not really, although i gotta say i'm glad to see there's 3 big ten teams in the top 7, not too shabby. sad there's only one team in the top ten from any other conference but the two of us...definitely the best fans in the country. although if they added a rating for opponent hospitality, LSU's lead would probably be a lot bigger. :thumb:
