I didn't think it was worth mentioning that the Geaux Zone had free audio, I was thinking it would be like listening to a bikini competition  But since the video is crapping out, I am muting that when it is working and listening to the Geaux Zone's coverage: http://www.lsusports.net/newMediaPlayer/consolewmp.htm?type=&oemid=5200
Glanced at the scores and LSU has a huge uphill battle from the first rotation. Ashleigh Clare-Kearney registered a 9.325 on the beam, and it counted towards the team score. (6 gymnasts perform, 5 scores count)
luckily no one else is burning down the house either, so it's do-able if they perform well. Beam is by far their worst event by a large margin.
All they need to do is finish in the top 3 of this round of 6, so hopefully they can hang in there. Thanks for the heads up on the live stats, I missed that too. Video seems to be working again. Live stats for session 1 ---------------------------- Season high average of 49.45 on the vault has the Lady Tigers back into it. There's a long way to go, but finishing in the top 3 and moving on is looking a lot better than it was early. The LSU people are saying that LSU needs to get a 49.2 on the bars to secure a top 3 spot. That would tie LSU with Florida, but since LSU's vault was so good that gives LSU the tiebreaker. Lady Tigers got a 49.15 on the beam and is in 3rd place. It all came down to how Stanford did on the floor, and the LSU people are saying LSU will move on. It's official, LSU moves on! :geaux:
LSU finishes in the top 3 despite a rugged start, LSU will compete in the finals on Friday at 6 p.m. :geaux: LSU asked for a score to be reevaluated and it came back lower, so the final totals tightened up. But the Lady Tigers still came through. Final stats 1 - 197.450 - Georgia 2 - 196.375 - Florida 3 - 196.300 - LSU 4 - 196.225 - Stanford 5 - 196.100 - Penn State 6 - 195.825 - Oklahoma
Could turn out to be another SEC Championship for the Title. If Bama and Arky pull through that would make 5 of the 6.
Georgia everyone else. The Dawgs will repeat . . . AGAIN. This would be something like 5-straight for them.
