add me to the dont change tradition category. some things should just never be changed. besides, if you are gonna go with a uni thats purple pants and jersey, you really need to make a bolder fashion statement. maybe a flashy gold purse and pumps.
Not just going along with the crowd here; I love our traditional uniforms. In fact, I wish we'd go back to the pre-Nike design where the shoulder striping went all the way around the shoulder.
White shirts. Yellow pants. Yellow helmets. We got the NCAA to change the rules to allow this (thanks DiNardo!). You don't change tradition that causes rules to be changed. The only exception I could ever see is that if/when we play Notre Dame we don the yellow jerseys with white tops and white pants, because it's a great HAHA to them.
Insignificant teams play around with their uniforms...for example...Oregon, Clemson, and Georgia. :hihi:
Look at the pro teams who 'modernized' their uniforms. They all suck compared to the old ones. Denver and New England are prime examples. The Texans and Titans I don't like either. Look at Green Bay, Chicago, or Pittsburgh. As soon as you see them, you know who they are. LSU needs to stay just like they are and keep on looking like, well, LSU.
To add to this sentiment, LSU has one of the most recognizable uniforms in all of college football. Even those who don't really follow LSU, know who it is the minute they see us on TV. Don't mess with the way we look, it is all part of the package. Just like CBS messing with our nite games, you change the mojo of the team and the mojo gets jinxed.
Yellow? tsk tsk I wouldn't mind changing the golden girls uniforms. I suggest seeing those sketches first :grin:
I agree with the sentiments here, don't jack with sacred tradition. If you want something different a traditional throwback jersey/ helmet would be cool for special occasions.
I don't know if the original poster's intent was to completely change the traditional Saturday night uniforms. If so, I'm against it. I was thinking more along the lines of a different uniform only worn every so often, like a huge game or other special occasions. I wouldn't mind something like that.
