I'll probably get the same criticisms, but deep down inside, I think if we're going to mess with tradition...let's get a new helmet design. It's about time those block letters could be changed to something a little different or more updated. I bet you creative ones out there who are good with photoshop could have a field day posting new helmet and uniform designs for LSU and rival teams. Some could be hilarious... especially for other SEC teams. I remember back in the USFL days, someone proposed a contest for renaming/redesigning the logos for the Breakers because we didn't have any here in south Louisiana...more like high and low tide. One lady suggested the helmet display a broken wedding ring on the helmets to symbolize all the marriages broken up by football. Someone else suggested the team be renamed the "Booze"...that way when they stunk up the dome and everyone was booing, the team would think everyone was cheering and start playing better! This could turn out to be a really great thread. ...like a Florida helmet with the gator's tail between it's legs. ... Or a Vandy jersey with "kick me" on the back of it. I could never decide which team had the most inspiring uniform/helmets Alabama or Penn State? (especially their white uniforms) I wonder what a "gangsta" LSU helmet would look like? :lol:. There are some changes that could be made admittedly, but nothing should be touched until toonces has officially been "taken to the farm to live with all the other old animals". Any changes now would probably have it in some fashion and i dont know if i could stand looking at that abomination for another 20 years, especially since we are nearly rid of it now. Personally, i wish a toned down version of the tulane uni's (white helmet, purple jersey, white pants) would replace our current alternate. And you cant do white jersey without gold pants. It just looks wrong.
Those are some pretty good sketches. I do like the white helmets, although I think that the traditional uni's are still pretty cool.
I got an idea marketing man. Let's leave the uniforms alone, especially with the economic downturn and cost cutting. Wearing the same uniform we wore in '03 when we won the National Championship:crystal: and in '07 when we won the National Championship:crystal: would be making a BOLDER statement.
I'm kind of traditional about football uniforms. Design new uniforms for basketball or baseball maybe, they change those all the time. Design cheerleader outfits or even the Golden Band from Tigerland's uniforms. But leave the white football jerseys alone. Gold hats and pants. Please.
