Completely forgot about Maclin and Reid as well, I thought Maclin was looking to play WDE and Reid has the size to be on OLB, but I think we need him at Safety.
If Maclin moves to WDE it will be later on in his career when he adds more weight and if we do not have depth issues at LB. Reid said he is looking forward to a chance at the OLB spot but that could come later as well. Maybe next season because we will have depth issues at that spot next year as well. Plus we have Muncie coming in.
Did I miss something? On that article in the link that LaSalle posted it says: When did they switch Travis Dickson to FB? First I've heard of it. That's one tall flippin' FB.
bhelm, does Loston see significant PT behind Taylor/Eugene? seems like we gotta get this guy some PT.
I really like the depth chart. The OL needs to get back to its nasty side or this season wont be a whole lot better. The DL must get pressure. Im pretty confident we will see a lot of improvement in both. I think Blackwell will be a tremendous lineman for LSU. The only starter I really question at this point in Murphey. I was never at all impressed with Murphey. Nothing at all against him. He just doesnt break tackles. I know he never received a lot of carries, but when he did. I like what Ridley showed when given holes. Ford has a very bright future as well. Plus bringing Ware in, although Im sure they may want to redshirt him. If Loston is as good as he is projected I think he may crack the lineup down the road. Taylor showed a lot of promise early on then fell through, the whole team pretty much did to different degrees. I really like Eugene at S. The only thing is both are small for the position.
I haven't heard anything about Chris Davenport this spring. 5 star recruit from Mansfield. Did he fall in a pothole or somethin' ? Anybody know?
#2 on the depth chart - will see PT. He was redshirted last year (came in injured if you remember). He looks the part - remains to be seen how well he can translate his natural gifts (mostly his physical attributes) into success at the SEC level of play. I'm optimistic he'll be a much better player than Al Woods - another 5-star who just did not pan out like folks thought he would.
Loston looks the part for sure. But I'm wondering. I've seen a couple of things that make me wonder if he's adjusted to no longer being the biggest, fastest guy on the field. SEC receivers aren't going to crumble before him like HS guys did. We'll have to wait and see. He's definitely one of the guys (along with Montgomery, Ford and Chase Clement) that I'm really anxious to watch play this year.
I was talking about Nick at LSU. You don't pay close attention do you? No kidding. Man, we never thought of that. Since Nick left, we just sit around and wonder how this game is played.
