That was the Canadian offense and Guice was healthr enough to play most games. Danny Etling, the heir apparent to Tom Brady was the QB and was nursing an injury all season that affected his passing.

Now we have, as Matt Moscona calls him, THE GREAT JOE BURROW!

Hell, I'm still waiting for The Great Amp
    Hill
the greatest WR to ever grace the Ponderosa according to Saban..

    Now we got another Greatest?

I saw Matt Canada was named a Top Coordinator hire. I must've missed Ensminger on there..

Would you rather see that kind of ratio in play calls or what I call a balanced offense where the yards in passing and running are close to each other.

Like the word "rival," balanced offenses have different definitions depending on a person's opinion. In my eyes, Auburn had the most balanced offense in the SEC last season. There was roughly about a 200 yard difference in total yards gained between the two: passing carrying the small advantage.

I think Ensminger will be 60+ pass, and 40- run in play calls this particular year with the quality at WR, and inexperience at RB. The yards will be similar this year, but I think Es goals are 50/50 in yards long term, 60/40 pass. If they develop confidence in JB early, we'll be a pass heavy team this year, imo. The pass heavy part will incorporate a lot of short passes, short outs and curls, not the chunking it up for grabs approach every 3rd down like Canada had Etling doing last year. We'll throw downfield, but most of the passes will be of the 10 yard or less variety. That's my prediction.

Regarding record, this is going to be a particularly difficult season to predict. So many variables. Plusses: coaching personalities seem galvanized now, defense will be a strength, as will OLine, and WRs (if someone can get them the ball). Negs: very difficult schedule, unknowns at QB/RB, coaching staff under a lot of pressure to get it right quickly. I think we find a way to win 9 games, hopefully more. The key will be getting off to a good start. If we start 3-0, look out. Need to get that confidence going, and then the sky's the limit. 7 or less wins will be completely unacceptable, and Alleva/Oeaux will be looking for new jobs, if that happens.

Please provide what you are basing that unequivocal statement. You say it with such certainty, there must be indisputable evidence. I missed that and would like to check it out.

With our schedule I think it's possible we could have a top 10 caliber team and finish 8-4.

Yeah, you are absolutely right. I fear that, for sure, and don't think the coaching staff will survive if that happens.

Every year we seem to get overly optimistic about this time. This year a much more measured tone.

I’m thinking 7 wins will be about it. 9 or more will be cause for celebration.

One thing for sure, we will not be able to give one away this year and meet expectations.

i think our backs will be better than people think... yeah, we don't have a fournette or guice (as far as we know), but we've been able to successfully run the ball for years without a great back but some very good ones... just off top i go hill, hilliard, hester, etc...
