The game against Mississippi State, along with the one against Arkansas, are the games I see LSU fans putting in the win column. Both teams, Arkansas much more so, are undervalued this year by a lot of fans. Moorhead is a guy I credit for what we've seen evolve at Penn State. Mullen to Moorhead, year one, even trade or better. I respect what he brings to the table. I see an easier transition for Morris at Arkansas than most have expressed. It's not that much of a scheme change when you think about Bielema's last few years at Arkansas. They were throwing the ball. Conditioning will be tough, but doable. Tough road game for the Tigers.
I didn’t read every post, but I’m thinking we will see something close to our play calling the year E was interim. The play calling wasn’t bad just poorly executed. They clean that up and have the defense respecting a productive short to intermediate passing game it will be a successful offense. Everybody nowadays knows how to play the run/pass game when they know what’s coming. Very few clubs in our league are going to let you enforce your will, you have to keep them guessing. I imagine that is what E will do. That said it’s a toss up to where we finish.
If LSU can get any kind of consistency out of this QB transfer and the RB committee, and the defense can force 3 and outs... I see 9 wins being realistic with an upset thrown in for a possible 10 W regular season.
If somebody steps up to be a really good corner opposite Greedy Williams we will have a top 5 defense. Lots of questions to answer on offense though. They have to be able to move the chains consistently to keep the D fresh and to score when they get to the red zone. Have we solved the placekicking problems.
