quote from Backwell blogger on TheSportingNews.com "Oklahoma is ranked #2. For right now USC is ranked #1 and should be. However I'm not convinced Oklahoma is the second best team in the nation. That distinction goes to LSU, Florida or Georgia. In fact,in whatever order you want to list them in I think those teams should be 2-4." http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/backell/168584
I really don't think it is right to chastise OU and praise SEC teams because they are in the SEC and not do the same for USC because the PAC-10 is so weak.
OU is solid. I would still be concerned about their defense when they go up against a high powered offense.
Why is everyone all over OU's jock this year? They are so over rated. Just because they beat crappy teams does not mean they are good. They get no credit for wins until they play Texas.
Somewhat agree, but to me, a stronger case for that same argument can be made using USC. Only problem is, the first time they play a decent team is in whatever bowl they wind up in.
I agree with head. USC beat OSU, who we all know, was not nearly the team they were made out to be last year, the year before and of course this year. It took 3freakin years for the national media to realize, "hey, perhaps this big 11 conference isn't all that good." Hopefully USC will get matched up against an SEC team in the NCG this year and get demolished. I am not convinced they have the depth in the trenches to keep many SEC teams from running up a USC vs Pac-10 type score. They have good starters, they always do. They crumbled without their starting quarterback last year. We won an SEC Championship. Don't get me wrong, they have talent, but not the type of talent that can sustain the pounding of 8 SEC games. I think everyone in this forum can agree that if AU hadn't been robbed, USC would not have a crystal ball.ldskule::tigerhead
