I managed one of the first redfish farms in coastal Louisiana and lived on a houseboat and later at a fishing camp in the marsh east of Golden Meadow for many of the years in the '80's. Our location was only accessible by a 20 minute boat ride. I think I did more fishing than any weekend sport guy. But I was no sport fisherman...I was fishing for meat.

I was the guy popping a cork for specs with 30 lb test so I could yank in the occasional five pound redfish that hit that smoky grub. I didn't use a tackle box, I had a cast net, a couple of corks rolling around the deck and a shirt pocket with some plastic green cockahoes and a smoky grub or two with some lead head hooks I kept under the seat.

I used to use a $25 shimano rod and reel combo that I kept in the boat at all times...in the weather...I'd wear out one a year. I used to really mess up the fish back then.

I would have been an embarrassment to any self respecting Bass fisherman.

Keep posting, bro, and keep us updated on the LSU fishing team. and remember one thing...we need another SEC championship, not to mention a :crystal:.

You ought to carve up and paint a customized top water plug and call it Tigerbait !! :tigereye:. I bet the eyelashes would drive the Green Trout wild.:).

I'm thinking "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer"...trying to fit it in the budget, though.

I cut my teeth on H&H spinnerbaits, Hulapoppers and Devil's Horse. Now it's all Wacky Wormin' and Pop Rs for me. :thumb:

well, there was a new guy a few months back that provided a lot more beer than expected.
however, supplies are running low, so it is time re-stock the fridge.

the youth of America continues to disappoint me at times.

you do know there are ways around that law, don't you?
hell, in a college town the size of Baton Rouge, there has to be at least a dozen places one could purchase adult beverages without being carded.

Sooooo....When's the next rodeo ?.....and is tailgating allowed at the weigh station. We have to set the standard for the SEC when it comes to tailgating at an official event.

We're from the sportsman's paradise, after all. This should be as big as NASCAR for us.:thumb:.
