We can officially delete any LSU #1 ranking threads.
Jacksons defection all but ended that on all fronts.
Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things.

I think we still held onto the ESPN #1 spot. It's going to be very close for #2 between LSU and Bama on Scout too.

    It should end
    ESPN: 1
    Scout: 3
    Rivals: 2

We still hold on to the composite #1 too, it looks like? Not that it matters.. numbers are fun to play with.. but they don't mean jack.

    Pratt leaving didn't help either.

i was listening to espn radio today while stuck on the spillway bridge going into nola and i believe the term they used was "composite rankings". i actually started laughing when i read it because it made me think of this thread.

true. we couldnt keep up with him. every time we turned around he was off somewhere again. dotb and i joked that we should but a bell around his neck so we wouldnt lose him.:hihi:

yet i had to wait till they were serving. :(

Agreed... but it shouldn't matter in the long run.

    Edit: Just found them here.

    So Islstl,

If we had kept Pratt, Bell, and Jackson, would we have had the highest point total ever for a recruiting class?

    Just curious.

Nope. We would have been slightly under 3,000 I think. islstl can confirm.. I might have added wrong

Even if we landed Richardson with the guys above we would have been 20ish points off? (I think)

Jester, we would have had to land Richardson to have a shot.

Richardson, Jackson and 2 more 4 stars would have done it (take 2 from Pratt, Bell, Benton). That would have given us roughly 3060 points.
