____________________________________________________________________ Just curious. If not Miles to MSU then who would you guys prefer? We dont want to see him go but have to appreciate any person going with their heart, be it here or there. [/quote] I think you misread my post...the rumor has it that Miles is headed to UM (Carr is supposedly retiring at the end of the season). MSU has a new coach in Dantonio. I just said that we have enough problems in the state recruiting against Carr, don't really want to compete against a nationally known Miles!
Welcome to the board and thanks for the good wishes. Check out my signature below for an option you probably have not considered.
CLM "will" be coaching the LSU Tigers, next year...book it! :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:

If Carr leaves, who do you feel would be his preferred replacement?
Actually, that's a situation that has been passed around the Spartan community as laughable! One of the things he constantly complained about was the head-to-head recruiting in the state of Michigan. Obviously, Saban was second to Carr...hard to recruit against the storied name of Michigan. I'd like to believe that, because of recent ties to MSU, he wouldn't consider coaching UM, however we all know that the only loyalty Saban has is to the almighty $. Ugh, what a can of worms that would open in our state! Les Miles is the leading candidate (among the fan base) with the names of Kelly, Meyer and Stoops being thrown around. I wouldn't be surprised to see Carr retire at the end of the year, but that's not set in stone either. Right now it's just a rumor that's spreading.
That's the key words right there. I don't think Miles is the leading candidate amongst the UM higher ups. Fortunately, fans don't get to vote on coaches. If we did...I would personally start a campaign for Jessica Alba to be our next coach...on second thought...just FIRE Miles and get her here NOW!
i truly believe that les miles may not be UM's first choice for the hc job, for this reason: in his first year at LSU he looked like a deer in headlights, his second year he seemed to "coach" better, this year he has come under fire for being woefully risky and lucky and his coaching abilities have come under fire by the media and some fans. i don't know. i think his record speaks for itself. i think he is very good coach and i would love to see him stay and build on what he has already accomplished. but, UM is one of the "traditional" teams in college football and I think they give several candidates a good look and I am not so sure miles is tops on their list
