have never posted here before, but often come on to read threads (ever since Saban left MSU to take the job at LSU). I can see, from some of the posts, that there's still a bad taste in your mouth for Nick. Been there...done that! But your program hasn't suffered...if anything, it's gotten stronger. Congrats on your #1 ranking! Here's hoping that Miles stays put at LSU for 2 reasons. (1) MSU struggles enough against UM recruiting with Carr at the helm, we don't need a name coach like Miles taking over their program and (2) I'd really hate to see LSU go through the pains of hiring another coach after making it to the #1 ranking again. Rumors have been spreading all day long that Carr is retiring and will announce soon after the OSU/UM game on Saturday. PLEASE keep your coach out of the state of Michigan! Lol! Good luck the rest of the season.
Thanks for the kind post, and welcome to the board. :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:
Nutriaitch...To answer your question, there was a split feeling among MSU fans when LSU won the NC under Saban. We all knew his abilities and looked forward to many Big Ten Championships and high national rankings under him. Needless to say, most of us felt stabbed in the back when he jumped ship and headed to LSU....particularly the way he did it. We were headed to a bowl game and he left us "high and dry" after assuring everyone that he was staying at MSU. Most of the fans were and still are very bitter. Some hoped he'd fall flat on his face at LSU....others knew it wouldn't take long for him to elevate the program, however weren't expecting a NC! But we all knew that he'd leave LSU with the first better $$$ offer. And now he's shown his true colors by leaving the NFL for Alabama. That must really smart for LSU fans....having him in the same conference! Simply stated, he's got a huge ego, has no loyalty and is only concerned about $$$$. Wouldn't be surprised to see him leave Alabama within the next 3-4 years (I believe 5 years has been the longest he's been anywhere). I hate to think I hold grudges, but our program has been struggling since he left and I hope he falls on his face at Alabama. Lol!
When he left here for the NFL most were disappointed but knew he was trying to better himself. When he dropped the NFL after 2 years and went to Bama, that's when many got bitter. And the Dolphins are still reeling from his ineptitude.
MSU fans used to come to our boards and sort of "warn" us about Saban. Now, we know how you guys felt about him. He is a good coach, but he is very hard to like many times. I felt that when he was @ LSU, and I can see it very well now that he's @ Bama. For what it's worth, I REALLY hope that Coach Miles stays away from Michigan. I like him--which is more than I can say for Saban.
PLEASE keep your coach out of the state of Michigan! Lol! Good luck the rest of the season.[/quote] ____________________________________________________________________ Just curious. If not Miles to MSU then who would you guys prefer? We dont want to see him go but have to appreciate any person going with their heart, be it here or there.
