This has nothing to do with anything, but it was nice of you to try, I guess.

LSU has recognized that they made a decision they shouldn't have, apologized for it, and stated they will use better judgement in the future. I don't know what else people want them to do.

Not when the photo is being used to promote the university it's not. All the students have to do is ask LSU not to use pictures of them if they photoshop them and I'm sure the university won't use them anymore period. This is t that big of a deal and that's why I thought Christianity was a better religion than the others because Christians have the good sense and thicker skin to not let something as trivial as this offend them. And if it does offend then hopefully no Christian will go out and hurt someone like idiotic, savage, radical Muslims do.

What in the world ever gave you that impression? Christians want exclusive rights to the name of the winter solstice celebration, which is, ironically, a holiday rooted in generosity & sharing.

Let me start off by saying Im an agnostic/atheist.

I think everyone should ahve freedom to beleive what they want to believe. There is no reason for that to be photoshoped. Thats just plain politically correct. America has turned into the land of politically correct pansies to appeal to everyone.

However what I do find hilarious is this. Christians are up in arms over a cross being photoshopped. Yet if someone wore an inverted cross they would want that symbol photoshopped or not allowed to be worn in public. Same with all the christians who protested the freedom of speech card when the owner of Chik-Fil-A made those anti-gay comments. Those same people are also the first ones wanting to take away someones freedom of speech if they speak of beliefs other than theirs. Those people would be the first to protrest a metal band coming to town for example.

Careful with blanket statements. You're talking about a vocal minority. I am a Christian, a lay leader in the Church, a Ministry leader and I serve in various functions and outreach programs. I feed the hungry at a soup kitchen and work in programs that provide for many needy people. I don't subscribe to the group you are describing above.

I support free speech, I respect the right of people to make their own decisions including who they love. I try every day to practice the concept of "radical acceptance". A peaceful and respectful approach to all people and their beliefs. And depending on who the metal band is, I would probably be in the arena jamming my butt off. I'd also be at just about any musical venue by the way. I love live music of all kind (another thread for another forum).

Make sure you identify the true issue and be honest about your statements. Yes, there are people like you describe. They are not all of us. In fact most of us are quite different from what you describe. And you are one of us as well. We are all people and all brothers regardless of what we believe.

The issue I have is that the University altered the image. Period. Shouldn't have done it. Someone else out here said they should have chosen to use the image or not. Alteration should not have been considered.

What I also have issue with is the concept of why they did it. I simply don't understand removing a symbol of peace so as not to offend "non-Christians". Quit making an issue of it and there won't be. It's ok to display a symbol of your beliefs whatever they are. No one should take offense to that. They should, however, take offense to censorship.
