I think yall got a hell of a coach

Tubbs is def of the defensive mind. If the new OC is from that Troy team a couple of years ago. I think tech will surprise alot of ppl. If the OC can create that type of production with TT players. I think you will have a hell of a team because most of the time I dont see any defense in the Big 12. Tubbs did wonders with Old Piss in his days there.

I dont know any thing about the OC TT got from troy. But I would believe if he can pull the production out of what TT has been recruiting it would seem to work well "similar but more skilled players".

I have been waiting years for TTU to have a team full of players on par with some of the others in the Big XII.. They do well with a few diamonds here and there, I am hoping that CTT levels the field.

I believe he will hes teams always performs well. the expectations increase too fast for some fans. and Mack Brown and Bob Stoops will have to play against a decent defense every season.

deceks, I'm a Saddle Tramp, if you know what that is. For those in Tiger Nation that haven't heard of us, which I'm guessing is about 99%, we are an all male spirit organization dedicated to the betterment of Texas Tech. We go to all the mens sports, not just football, to support our school and teams. So being around all the sports as much as I am, I look deeper into the small things. I knew a little bit about the Troy OC because my dad is on the stat crew at UNT, and they are both in the Sun Belt. I agree that the Air Raid won't be the same, but it will be similar in the fact that the OL's splits will be big, and the ball will be thrown at least 50 to 60 percent of the time. As for the defense, we have some athletes out there, but give TT a few years, and i think he will get the right guys for his system, and Tech will be a defensive powerhouse in a conference with little defense. I also think we will have the BEST special teams in the conference, and hopefully one of the top 4 offenses. With all of that said, i could see us finishing 1st or 2nd in the Big XII South next year since UT and OU are having rebuilding years. The Big XII will be down, but hopefully we will be up!

Definitely know what a Saddle Tramp is. I have a few TTU connections also; wife, best friends are profs, transcript, money....

The big change will be when TTU needs a half yard we will be able to take a snap from under center without tripping.

I have no worry about the D, esp. with Coach Dunn in the background. Great man, get to know him. I was pissed when Tommy didn't immediately bring him to TTU.

Everyone could use an A in a class haha. I agree that with Dunn we could have one of the best linebacking cores in the Big XII no doubt, but I am still just a little worried about the D-Line. Have you checked out any of the scrimmages or practices yet?

I heard today that Bama and Texas Tech have verbally agreed to a 2012 game in Jerry's world in Dallas. I guess with Tubbs recent success he just loves that rivalry.

Not disagreeing with your assessment, just commenting on I never thought of TT as a mid-major school. I mean they do belong to a BCS conference. Splitting hairs I know, but I don't think they consider themselves a mid-major either.

I heard rumors of the same thing. I also heard that there will be one played in Alabama, or maybe Georgia for the Chik-Fil-A College Kick Off. Its about time that Tech schedules some good pre-conference games, instead of cupcake schools that almost beat us because we aren't ready for them to actually know how to play the game.
