He got a DUI. That's all I found in a quick Google search. He didn't beat up his wife or steal anything or commit any crime of active commission. Samoans may have a drinking problem but other than that they are pretty law abiding people.
This kid has messed up too much and appears to be a POS. I mean digging through an unconscious persons pockets, then punching his GF. If this were a Bama kid people would be up in arms about him being kicked off. He has had too many transgressions and should be off the team. Considering the other four who were in trouble Miles needs to get some discipline on this team.
In general, yes they are and a significant portion are Mormon. It's a really tight knit community. Rey Rey has (had) some anger issues. He was drunk a lot at USC, got in a few fights at parties and frat houses. After that DUI suspension he got into it with a bar manager. Side note, Samoan player Kaluka Maiva (USC and the Browns) is the nephew of The Rock who is Samoan on his momma's side.
LSU DT Trey Lealaimatafao dismissed from team following battery arrest By Tom Fornelli | College Football Writer June 29, 2015 3:43 pm ET Iowa State is tired of being on the wrong end of calls from Big 12 officials. (USATSI) LSU has dismissed defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao from the team. “Trey is no longer a member of our football team,” said LSU coach Les Miles in a statement released by the school. “We have gathered information on this incident and we feel it's best for us to part ways.” The incident which Miles refers to took place two weeks ago. That's when Lealaimatafao was charged with simple battery and simple robbery when he allegedly beat "an unnamed male victim unconscious and then punched the victim's girlfriend in the face with a closed fist." As if all that wasn't enough, the robbery charge stems from eyewitnesses telling police that Lealaimatafao "dug through the male victim's pockets after the beating." Lealaimatafao was suspended indefinitely after being charged. This isn't the first incident involving Lealaimatafao at LSU, either. Last offseason, he suffered an arm injury after punching a window in the LSU weight room, and he was also cited for allegedly stealing a bike outside of the campus library. So, as you can see, Lealaimatafao has a rap sheet nearly as long as his name. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...imatafao-dismissed-from-team-following-arrest
Hence, one of the many reasons I gave our Defensive Line Recruiting a poor grade last year. Too much attrition and not enough bodies at the position. Over the last 2 years the only 2 DTs that are still on the team are Godcheaux and Valentine and we can't say with confidence that Valentine will do what needs to be done to get on the field.
Gillmore, Clark, Herron, Neal, Patterson, Thomas, Bain, Bower are all these guys that bad, did we miss on that many players? How can any team miss on that many kids? Might not be the kids?
They all get a second chance and hopefully improved coaching with yaw yaw. We'll know this season if they were misses or not.
They have time but none of those are from the last 2 classes from what I recall and not many of those are true DTs. No bodies equals no competition. At least we see them correcting this mistake from the last 2 years with this class and hiring O.
