Some seem to forget that Vinson led all players in tackles for the Spring game.

Matheiu hits better, but Claiborne sticks better.

Tyrann Matheiu is a better cornerback than Claiborne.

I'm not knocking Mo, I'm just sayin'....

of course he is. its just hard to convince yourself a guy that size is outplaying everyone else even when its happening right in front of you.

better coverage, better ball skills, better tackler.

But Mo was improving so I wont mind if he catches up. His upside is great if he learns to be a bit more aggressive. tyrann has no problems in that dept.

although it will be hard for him to match what he did last year much less improve on it.

I know I'm gonna get blasted for this but.......I'm not sure how everyone can say Tyrann is a better corner than Mo. Tyrann was very effective in the nickel and was all over the field. I love watching him play. I know he is good but...He is five foot nothing and a hundred and nothing. He plays with passion and is a gamer but do we really put him out on an island over mo and simon in this league? I dont make that call knowing what we know. Mo is an all SEC corner! I also think we are a little quick to anoint simon the "windmill" as being able to cover any receiver. A 6'3" corner is by no means invincible or even ideal......Of course it depends on the level of athleticism, that we are dealing with. 6'3" corners aren't common for a reason. They are great to have for the right match up but they can be situational. shorter quicker recievers can give a tall corner fits. I love the potential but we really haven't seen enough yet. I think they are great players but to say Ty is better than Mo or that Simon can cover any receiver because he is 6'3" is maybe a little premature. I do believe that we sometimes take for granted what we just lost in our secondary in Pat Pete. Having him around really allowed alot of guys to shine. We are loaded. no doubt. I just want to see it come together on Sept 3rd. I hope it all turns out to be true I just wonder about alot of these assumptions because if our D-line doesnt get the push we think it will or if big Sam isnt quite back to what he was then our secondary will really need to back up all the hype because they will really have to cover. Am I wrong to question any of this? I hope they wreak havoc but too much hype can be poison. people are already ready to say one of the greatest secondaries at LSU ever. Hope so. I'm cautiously optimistic even when I know we should be good. Go Tigahs but until I see it on the field....

Tyrann is more of a disrupter like previously stated. He reminds me a lot of Laron Landry in that he is a freak athletically but struggled in coverage. Landry did well in identifying the target and exploding to it and making a play. More of a read & react type player (Tyrann has better natural instincts though) rather than a lock-down corner. But that's no knock on them because it's rare to find a player with both characteristics unless you're talking about the original "windmill" himself :geauxtige
