The LSU Defense through 9 games has only allowed 10 TD's this season, ranked #1 in CFB. The next fewest allowed is 13. Regardless of how the coaching search/hire goes, Aranda must be retained.
I agree, but if it's not Eaux and we want some of the bigger names out there, they're going to want to hand pick their staff. No big time coach coming in is going to want the administration dictating to him who his coaches are. Now, he would be wise to retain Aranda, but it will have to be the head coach's decision and no one elses.
Agreed. But the way this defense has seemed to just continue getting better each week it would be wise to retain the guy.
This is interesting. I love to point out bull shit and don't you love the talking heads just slobbering all over the best ever gump defense. I would go out on a limb and say ours is better. Just sucks our offense hasn't found their grove. Watch out for next year if we can get some pieces in place and keep this D.
Any head coach who wouldn't keep Aranda would be a fool who shouldn't be considered for the LSU job. Aranda won't be here that long anyway before somebody offers him a head job he would take.
You may be speculating, how do you know if Aranda wants to be a head coach? I'm sure there are a number of coaches who don't want the job because of all the extra crap that comes with it, Chavis comes immediately to mind. DA may be perfectly content doing what he's doing. Saying that however, he may end up in the pros as a DC.
There's a reason he's named associate head coach currently. It's by his request. And he wants to be a hc.
