Going to the LSU v Aubrn game this fall to experience an LSU home game. Always thought of LSU as "the" Death Valley, then during the LOI signing show on ESPN today, heard Clemson callled Death Valley. What's the real story?
LSU has a giant stadium nicknamed Death Valley. Clempson has a football field nicknamed death valley.
I have been in both stadiums. Clemson fans somehow can produce "studies" that show their stadium to be louder than LSU. Personally I did not think it to even be close. They have a somewhat open endzone that allows a lot of sound "out" of the stadium. I will say though that their fans even after a loss were some of the nicest fans I have run into on road games. Not sure what LSU fans saw at Chick bowl but we really enjoyed our visit when TCU played them.
Clemson has the "real" death valley. After all the National Championships they won, we were jelly and figured why not emulate. The rest is history.
No takers? Okay pie guy. Here's a snippet from the Baton Rouge paper last December. http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/4756693-123/lsu-clemson-both-claim-moniker
