    2009 Season
    Opponent:
    Red Zone TD's - 36%
    PPG - 16
    TD's scored - 18

    2008 Season
    Opponent:
    Red Zone TD's - 55%
    PPG - 24
    TD's scored - 39

Amazing how different the stats are. We are greatly improved where it matters the most, SCOREBOARD.

The Chief has obviously made great strides after just one season!

Looking forward to next season's D!

I am too. Especially with Craig Loston in the secondary with C.Jones and P.Peterson. We should see a much improved D line with Brockers,Davenport and Montgomery playing. And Ryan Baker is going to be an outstanding LB.

And given that opposing teams had the ball for most of the games, too. I like it. Next year should be, how do the kids say? sick.

while i think the chief has made improvements since last year's squad there seems to be some times where we have trouble getting off the field. i want to give chavis a fair shake on this so i'll hold judgement for when we have an offense that can stay on the field longer but i'm not in love with chavis so far.

hopefully next yr the offense can hold the ball longer and our D won't look gassed in the 4th so much.

You know darn well I am referring to opponents points on the scoreboard. Chavis can't do a thing about Crowton's ineptness.

    Just messin with ya!!!

    Crowton is horrible, no doubt.

I also put up the time of poss in my thread, and its not much different than last yr. So can't use the "d on the field all game" argument.

Yeah, people have been saying that all year. To be honest, I thought for sure I'd be able to use that stat for this thread. Then I saw the stats. :D Also, they haven't averaged too many more plays on defense than in previous years.

That's why i left out the scoring in mine!

I just hate the soft zone defense. Maybe if our d-line was worth anything, it would work better. I just prefer an aggressive, attacking style of defense. Especially since we play in the SEC.

I think you have to keep in mind that, Most of the time, NOT ALL, LSU started out really good on D UNTIL the LACK OF LSU O kept LSU on D and they became tiered..

Just my view on it. I think out D stats would have been 2x's better given an O that was ranked at least in the top 30.
