I spoke with a player today and apparently the football team has been hitting it hard every morning for the past few weeks beginning at 7am. They had a conditioning test this morning and they all breezed through it. Joe Barksdale has also mentioned this on Twitter how they are "beasting" the conditioning every morning. From what I'm gathering, I think that LSU is going to come into the season in VERY good shape. I get the feeling that Moffitt and Co. ain't messin' around. Anyone close to the program or some of these players can tell you that they are absolute hosses. Three months....... opcorn:
Re: LSU Conditioning good. I like it when our players are in top shape and push teams all over the place.
Re: LSU Conditioning My thoughts exactly. The cool thing is that the players have bought into it and they don't look at it as punishment or extra work or anything like that. They are embracing it and waking up at 5:30 every morning ready to rock. I think it's awesome. :thumb:
Great news !! I think that the team may have slacked up, physically, last year...and they know it and are making up for it. Our OL got pushed around last year to some degree and the miserable running game showed it. One thing I like about Miles' coaching is they tend to come back after bad performance. Two years ago our defense sucked...in comes Chavis and they improved tons. Last year our offense tanked, and watch out this year. Last year, our players stunk in the combines, and this year... I'm not surprised by Okies report...I expected it. I just hope there's no complacency next year anywhere on the team by anybody. No players....no coaches....nobody !! Alabama, Auburn,Ole Miss, even Vandy is out there gunning for us all the time and we better be physically and mentally ready. There are no days off out there. This is the SEC !!!!
Confirmed. I've spoken with one of the players a couple times last week and he told me Moffitt is a man possessed. From what I'm hearing, they're all going to be in pretty good physical condition come September... if they live through summer training.. lol He also told me that Michael Ford is a freak of nature.
Re: LSU Conditioning As has been commented on, this is great news. Whether some believe that the combine results are any indication of a S & C program that was not living up to its potential or not, I think that if the guys embrace the program and due what Moffitt expects we will see dramatic results in the teams play. This has me excited to see our OL and DL push other teams around, and our RB's burst thru the lines.
So does this mean the players are back on board and listening to the coaches, or has Les still lost the team?
Les hasn't lost the players, or not at least by anything I've heard from anyone I've talked to. I know that information was circulating around a bit, but suffice to say things aren't always as they seem. That situation had to do more with the assistant coaches bickering amongst each other rather than there being a rift between the team and CLM. As far as I know, they're out to prove themselves this year. If we get some decent QB play we will have a good year, and it won't look like it was because of luck. :geaux:
