St. Petersburg, Fla. -- LSU coaches, as of 5:00 p.m. (EST), are en route to Orlando, Fla. to meet with uncommitted and consensus No. 1 prospect Robert Nkemdiche, as well as top-rated linebacker Ruben Foster.
As soon as the prospects are released from the Under Armour coaches following the All-America Game, they are once again allowed to receive visits from college coaches.
Despite conflicting reports, there is no question there is mutual interest between LSU and Nkemdiche, who also revealed that the Tigers, as well as Ole Miss, are his favorites. Yet, many believe that Nkemdiche favors Mississippi because of his family connections in Oxford, where his brother, Denzel, is a redshirt freshman linebacker.
Foster, a one-time Alabama commitment, recently decommitted from Auburn after coach Gene Chizik was fired.
LSU has maintained contact with Foster throughout, though. Furthermore, with starting middle linebacker Kevin Minter having declared for the NFL Draft on Thursday, the need for Foster is of paramount importance.
Landing either prospect would be huge for the Tigers as the defensive line is expected to suffer further losses. Defensive tackle Bennie Logan, and defensive ends Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery are also expected to declare for the draft.

One huge selling point is that they could get 4 years of experience in only 3 seasons, considering how many plays our defense has to play each game.

The biggest selling point is two star DE's leaving the team early. If he's got the stuff, he won't have to wait his turn to play.

Very true. I think this is making me a bit too excited, though. I really see Nkemdiche at Ole Miss purely on hunch, but Foster I feel is a toss up with how much he's changed his mind. I hope they're selling hard on early playing time. Who do you want to see in purple and gold more?

I think we have a more realistic shot at foster. He has already decomitted from bama and auburn, kind of burnt those bridges, and with Minter leaving he has a real shot to step right in and contribute.

My feeling is we get neither, but foster is definitely the more likely of the two. However I feel Nkemdeche would have the biggest immediate impact.

Heard they also went to make sure Gilmore was still solid with LSU, which he said he was. Florida has not given up on him and is trying their best to flip him.
