Hello Tiger Alumni and Fans! The time has come and we’re finally getting an LSU car tag in the state of Mississippi!

We are in the early stages of collecting pre-order applications and fees to send off to the Mississippi DMV.

In order to obtain your specialty tag, you must be a Mississippi resident; have a valid Mississippi license plate on your vehicle; and pay the $51 fee with the application.

For a copy of the application and proof of the tag design, please contact Amy McDonald via e-mail at [email protected].

Once the tags are designed and completed, someone from the tag committee will contact you to inform you that your tag(s) can be picked up at your county tax collector’s office. If you have any friends and/or neighbors that are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact Amy McDonald, Chairman or Deborah Monsour, President, Jackson, MS Alumni Chapter.

Please spread the word and show that tiger spirit!

    Thanks and :geauxtige

Why is it I have the feeling this is popping up all over SEC school fan forum sites.

Can we all offer a collective "bullshi*"?

    Why would this be BS?

It may be, but a lot of states do this.

I say thanks for the good work.

Not sure if Louisiana does it, but in Georgia, for example, you can get a plate with an out of state university's logo on it.

It says they are collecting pre-orders and fees. If it is like it is here in Al, they have to have so many pre-orders before the plates can be made. You pay your fee in advance, and if not enough orders are made over a specific period of time, you get your fee back.

Sounds like this is solicitation for just that. Of course, you should just check with the DMV.

I appreciate the comments already posted, as I have to say that it means a lot for someone to say "good work". It takes A LOT of time and dedication to have a vehicle tag produced in another state, especially since Mississippi has more than 1 major university.

I, for one, am an avid fan and alum of LSU and would LOVE to see this type of tag on the back of my vehicle. If anyone would like to know more about this, please contact me at [email protected] and I would be more than welcomed to send you a copy of the MS special tag application, as well as the tag design. Please note that we are in the "early" stages of collecting pre-order applications and fees to send to the Mississippi DMV. However, LSU has already given the state our tag design. Once we receive 200 applications, we will have the "go" from the state of Mississippi and they will produce the tag.

As far as the "BS", I would just like to say that I take offense to this....knowing that so many people have put forth an effort for this implementation, especially the University's Trademark & Licensing Dept, LSU's Alumni Association, myself and the Jackson, MS Alumni Chapter.

    Thanks and :geauxtige

If this is real, my apologies. But first time posters promoting something for sale and publicly listing a yahoo address is generally suspicious. Most people don't want their email online. Also, I've never heard of picking up plates at a county tax collector office.

I am very interested and can promote the tag in my area to help you reach your 200 person goal.

Any idea how many applications have been received? Also, any way you can post the tag design on here?

    For those questioning the post:

At least Amy doesn't appear to be Nigerian or asking for bank account info -- yet. :hihi:
