LSU is one victory shy of the FBS all-time record for consecutive victories over nonconference opponents in the regular season. Kansas State owns the record of 39 wins from 1993-2003. LSU has won 38 consecutive regular-season nonconference contests. The Tigers' streak began on Sept. 7, 2002, in a 35-10 win against The Citadel. The last 28 games of the streak have been while Les Miles has been the coach at LSU.
Yet we will still get the rubes who want to fire our coach because we lose a game.... Which will happen again. Many of us have said. We are living in great time for LSU football. I remember the 80s and 90s. Aside from a few other programs in the SEC many fan bases would have killed to have enjoyed the success LSU has in the last 6-7 years. LSU fans have enjoyed an amazing time. Enjoy it while you can guys. It wont last for ever (See Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida State, Miami, etc etc) Our time is coming. It is the natural progression of things.
I dont give a shit what Saban did or didn't do. LSU is on another level than all the OOC teams we play this year. The fact that his record is good is not a good enough excuse to shit the bed.
Kansas State owns the record? There is a reason the mildcats have been voted the greatest small college football team ever. They've played them all, more then once.
http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/...off-with-third-ranked-tigers-in-bayou-battle/ This article says we will tie Kansas State's record but ESPN said we will take the record. I don't really believe fox news. It is the Democrat in me. I am kidding we still have Idaho.
Don't mean to rain on a parade but very important qualifier there- IN the REGULAR season. Granted we have some great wins in there but throw in all rent-a-wins and you have to take that into consideration.
Doesn't matter. No one else has done it. And our OOC schedule has been much tougher than probably any other team's during the run. WV (twice), UDub (twice), Fresno St., VTech, Oregon, UNC, Az St, Arizona, Oregon St...not exactly rent-a-wins. You have to take THAT into consideration.
I did. See below. As for most of those games, it's great we won since we paid for a W. To put in in boxing terms, those teams were paid to take a fall. There's a reason people remember the UAB's.
