Don't be afraid to make a move my man. LSU is a top 5 job because of location due to recruiting geography and the fact we have no in state competition. That's why we're a top 5 job with very few peers. That's why idiots like O and Les have won titles here. Imagine what truly great coaching will do here. Don't be afraid to fail and become Miami. Take the risk and find the best coach you can find so that Saban says to himself what Urban did years ago when he kept seeing LSU and Bama on his schedule every year... it's time to go. Now, it's highly unlikely Saban would do that without going out on top first, but get a guy in here who makes Nick hate the grind because it's harder. Make it harder on him. I want a coach that wants to beat Saban as badly as O did once. But I want that coach to want to beat Saban that badly every time. O got fat and satisfied. Saban ain't ever satisfied. We deserve that here.
So basically you think this Auburn team is decent is why you're accepting this loss? I'm honestly just asking to understand why you're okay with an Auburn loss but not Kentucky. Cause Kentucky is a WAY better football program and team right now than Auburn and losing to Auburn is more shameful than losing to Kentucky. You follow recruiting, right? You saw how things got for Auburn last year?
It's hard to put this any better. I've quoted Ed's record against top 10 teams a lot over the years to rival fans, and it's a fucking great record. The problem is it is like Tap quoting Les' overall record. It was weighted heavily in his early years when he never lost. In recent years Les was highly mediocre. Same with Ed he's highly mediocre now since Burrow left. You just gotta embrace the new data, brother. And don't be afraid to fall off a cliff to irrelevance. Woodward won't hire Curley Hallman. LSU is good for a title even with idiots every ten years at the least, likely more. We've hired two idiots in a row. We're due for a good one.
I went back and looked at the TOP for the UCLA, Miss St, and Auburn games. We were even with UCLA. Both teams had the ball for roughly 30 minutes. Against Miss St, we had the ball 25 minutes and they had it for 35 minutes. Against Auburn we had the ball for almost 29 minutes and they had it for 31 minutes. That's not as big a disparity as I feared. That suggests to me that conditioning may be a factor on defense.
No one wants you to agree with them. Cause I actually don't share all the views a lot of the other posters here have. I actually prefer dissenting views and perspectives (Tiga knows, I used to post on the USC boards after 2003 for years just to get a west coast view of football and of the SEC and by extension of life) and it broadened my football perspective. It sharpened my views. I prefer people who disagree with me because then I can ask why and sometimes if they present the argument well enough which does happen I change my views. That's all. Examine all available data and update your view. You get hate because you're stubborn and seem to enjoy boasting about your knowledge while suggesting others are boneheads who didn't see it your way. (That was when I first started to reply heavily to you by the way. I didn't mind your views but when you started bragging and sniping.. yeah, was not a fan lol. I try very hard to not do that. I'll not attack you personally or belittle. Etc. It's just football. As I've said I actually find you intelligent which is why you acting this way is confounding. You realize that's complimentary right? But if I ever cross a line call me out on it. It happens and I'll definitely apologize if it happens and try not to let it happen again. Everything in life is about getting better, I think.
Love both options. Neither likes recruiting. I would rather a bad GameDay coach who is an obsessive recruiter like Kirby than a great GameDay coach who isn't into recruiting like Dan Mullen. You can always make the wrong hire.. Les and O were both the wrong hires. Skip should have given Saban the job back when he asked for it and fired Les. The reasoning? Kirby might actually recruit himself a title with actual pretty poor player development. He was one pass to a scrawny kid from Louisiana away from already having one.
OK Spock with your Vulcan level logic tell me Spock now that you have declared in your words right here for all to see that "Kentucy is WAY better than Auburn" tell us how can we possible beat Kentucky this weekend? Let's see Auburn beat us at home and again is in your own words now "Kentucky is WAY better than Auburn" and on top of that we have to play Kentucky in Lexington and again in your own words from other post O sucks, we have no running game and the team is in disarray so with all this you absolutely must be predicting we lose to Kentucky this weekend, right? If you say we shouldn't lose to Kentucky or we will win all of your Vulcan level logic is out the window. You set your own trap my man. Will ask you once again Spock do we win (not we should win or we shouldn't lose to Kentucky) plain and simple do we win? or do we lose (not we shouldn't lose to Kentucky) simply do we lose to Kentucky this weekend? Now don't forget what you just stated above let me remind you "Kentucky is WAY better than Auburn" who beat us at home BTW.
maybe you are looking at the game from an auburn won perspective, where most here are looking at it from an LSU lost perspective…. those 2 aren’t the same.
Kcal just want to see a few more games before asking for a wholesale house cleaning. Actually this weekend will most likely tell me everything I need to know. If O and this staff can't do their best coaching and motivating the players to kick Ken Fricking tucky's ass than there is no coaching, fight or pride left in em. Of course the players have to show some pride and fight too. I am predicting they all will. As far As Auburn as I have said here because that game is ALWAYS close I cut O and the team a little slack.
