After 2020 and the way we’ve gone 3-2 to start the year, I’ve totally lost faith in O. I expect we will keep stubbing our toe, but showing flashes of potential. Sounds like people believe Woodward will let 2021 play out further before making a move, but several folks also indicate the guillotine is already on the way. I don’t believe we are Tennessee or Nebraska, or even Miami for that matter. As a program, with the right folks in place, we are a powerhouse. But I remember the program before Saban too. We felt like Iowa, sometimes pretty good but never came through at the end. Our politics could keep us mediocre for a long time. The Saban era could be the outlier if we aren’t careful.
All I will say is I too don't think we are a Tennessee or a Nebraska I just don't want to become a Tennessee or a Nebraska by making the wrong move one way or the other about O. Whether we fire or don't fire O better be for all the right reasons and not because the fan's think he should be fired.
Wrong reasons would be because 9-3 wasn't good enough or because the fans think he should be fired. Right reasons is if we lose to Kentucky or if the ugly parts of his off the field antics are true
With respect to the ‘offensive’ offensive line we may not have better players standing on the sidelines. Sad…
We wouldn’t know as fans because they don’t sniff the field. All we can do is trust the coaching staff. Yep, trust the coaching staff…… the same staff who is responsible for the development (or lack there of) of these players. I know that isn’t fair to Bo Davis as he just got here. But O is not without fault in that. However, I have seen with my own 2 eyes that Kiner is a much better RB than TDP yet TDP is our starting back. Kiner only got 5 touches on Saturday averaging over 4 ypc. Where was he down the stretch when we needed to chew clock? Thats on the coaches. The best players are not playing, and only the head man in charge can explain why.
Because our offensive line is so bad you are seeing more TDP for blocking purposes. With all due respect Kiner is a little light in the butt, a true freshman plus I bet he hardly ever blocked much in high school. Maybe later in the year he will be back there more. I agree however he is a better back.
