Yes Miles is the winningest coach in LSU history, he is also one of if not the longest tenured coach in LSU history, and benefitted from LSU getting back in to the national recruiting game under Saban. A lot of Miles' major success stemmed from the stacked talent and wins over the course of the '05 thru the '07 seasons. While Miles continued the winning formula, even in victory, a lot of the wins seemed like losses based on the kind of play we witnessed throughout the Miles years. But he had obvious flaws that if you're honest with yourself, even you can not deny them. I am not sold on the O hire, and think LSU could've done better, but instead of bitching and singing the doom and gloom bullshit nonstop... I am going to root for O to have as much or even more success than Miles simply because he's the HC of LSU football, and the more success O has as the HC the more success the LSU program as a whole will have. That's a good thing to me. Jump on the Fan Wagon and enjoy some football with the rest of us, or do us all a favor and jump fuckin ship to another fan base forum.
Of available top notch coaches who would have taken the job the only way LSU could have done better was if Alleva would have backed up the Brinks truck to Jimbo's house and started shoveling money out until he couldn't refuse. I lost my mancrush on Tom Herman after Houston tanked the end of their season. Of the other names mentioned not one of them excited me and I wouldn't have hired any of them over Oeaux. @TerryP has a gump forum. I'm sure taint would be welcomed with open arms over there.
That's just it. If Fisher was our guy, you write the check with enough zero's that he couldn't refuse the job. Unfortunately we had him but Alleva and Co. screwed the pooch and pussed out at the last minute, and basically gave Fisher what he needed to get more of his terms from FSU. I like O, but I think LSU with an open checkbook could've gotten anyone they wanted not named Saban. But like I said, O is our coach and I will support him and cheer for his success as the more the successful he is, the more successful LSU football will be.
Of all the rumors at the time the name Dabo Sweeney was never mentioned. Except by me when I brought it up a couple of times. James Franklin would have also been a good hire but his name was never mentioned either.
With all the people the Mickey Mouse channel fired they kept that drooling old bastard? Any douchebag can put a mascot head on.
