Friend of mine sent this to me. For those of you who did not see the game, you will certainly enjoy this:
Yeah, PM actually came out to the plate after tossing his hat off and argued the call. Usually they don't like that, but the ump knew it was a really bad call.
Two strikes with your team down in the 9th, you have to protect the plate. If was a bad call but it was over the plate. I've finally cured my Little League team of looking at strike three!
Thank you very much! I was working, enjoyed reading the pbp thread after the game, saw a few highlights last night on the news. This video brought it to a new level. Very enjoyable! I loved the part around 8:45 when they show Dean after the hit, running towards first base. You can see the bodies of the Tigers in the dugout all start jumping and climbing out to see if it's a bomb. Tigers win! Tigers win! LSU!LSU!LSU!
no it wasn't. the replay showed it crossing just above his knees. it was really a good call, but looked horrible when it happened. the catcher dropping the ball didn't help the ump's cause.
He didn't drop the ball. He trapped it on the ground. Even South Carolina fans said it was a bad call.
