so far for 2004-05. Now that we are certain that Davis is not qualified and will enter the NBA draft with the hopes of making the Developmental League or at worst make major dolllars playing overseas our class just dropped behind La. Tech, UNO, and Tulane in terms of landing the best recruiting class in the state. Right now we only have two players coming in Thomas & Temple since Big Baby (unqualified & NBA) and Ford (scholarship offer rescinded due to major league incident at his JUCO). Neither player is ranked in the Top 350 in the Country. This does not bode well at all for the future of Brady at LSU because LSU did not land what they coveted the most in this recruiting class and that was a PG/SG who can take pressure off of Bass. And the news that Tasmin Mitchell is in agony over his college choice between Kentucky & LSU (plus NBA option) and the future really looks bleak for us for the next two years recruiting wise.
It's almost like we're back to Square One...the way things were before Brady got here, i.e., the cupboard is bare. From the day he was hired, I never expected John Brady to be the coach to take LSU to the next level. But I expected a little bit better than just treading water. Now, as we're seeing, you can only tread water for so long.
#1) Just because Davis puts his name in the draft, doesn't mean he will go to the NBA. As long as he doesn't get an agent,he will be fine to come to LSU #2) Every year around the Mcdonalds All-American game, there are about 5 or 6 guys that say "I am going to go to the NBA" or "I would like to try to make the jump." Of course Big Baby thinks he is ready for the NBA. What the hell else is he supposed to say? Once he realizes he needs a year or more of college ball, he will be at LSU working on his game... So don't say **** like "he will end up in the NBA developmental league" when he hasn't he made a final decision....
Thjey interviewed about 6 or 7 guys that I saw and all of them said they were not ready for the NBA, so Davis could have said the exact same thing, right?
What I am saying is that of course he is going to THINKS he is ready for the NBA...but I think that he will attempt it and he will realize he isn't quite ready....But I think saying he is going to end up in the developmental league is a ridiculous jumping to conclusions...People on this board and in life in general like to jump to big conclusions when things like this happen...All I am saying is give it chance and I bet he will be in P&G....
It will be a miracle for Davis to make it to LSU the only reason he is even looking at the NBA is because is knows & his advisors know that he doesn't have a chance of qualifying academically next year to make it in to LSU. Once again my comments are accurate and on target. Davis will not be in Purple and Gold next year or the following year.
why do you say things as if they are facts, when they are your theories on the future, which is yet to be determined?
Poli...I am not sure if you understand how many athletes fail to qualify RIGHT away....If you are so "certain" that he is not going to qualify, then why hasn't the paper or news services published that he is DEFINITELY not going to qualify? How is that one person on a message board knows more than every other recruiting expert and person close to the situation knows? And like Martin said....how are you so certain of something that hasn't even taken place yet?
