Touche'. I retract my call out of Charlotte's academics. :grin: Although the above made me chuckle a little bit. I'm sure that's the kind of education that Noel is looking for. In any case, it's a toss up where NJ goes and there's a good chance that it'll neither be Charlotte or LSU. Many times the home-town element pulls through here, and don't count out still a GA school. The visit list continues to grow and does anyone know the latest as to whether LSU is getting the visit and when? opcorn:

More updates. The UNLV trip went as could be expected... the typical positive reports, but to our benefit, no commitment. (Johnson leaves Las Vegas with good impression of UNLV program - Las Vegas Sun) Some board chatter suggests though that one of the concerning items against UNLV is the distance (i.e., "too far"). Also, on the Charlotte situation, apparently board chatter is that they have a schollie issue (i.e., their roster with incomings is full and someone would have to actually "make room" for NJ). So, I still am hopeful the LSU interest is real and the family is just keeping it close to the vest. It'll be interesting to see what Trent has up his sleeve for Noel. "On paper" LSU continues to make a lot of sense for Noel (if not the most sense!)--geographically, association with player (Dennis Harris), influence of a mentor (aka CJ), and no schollie issues and tons of potential playing time in a system that makes sense for him. The question will be whether NJ trusts and believes in Trent and team, likes the university setting and whether mom/dad buy into the program. Mom went with Noel to Vegas, and I wonder if she'll do the same at LSU. I've got to think that a mom would prefer CTJ and a closer LSU to having her son go to school in Vegas. :grin: According to reports out of Vegas, there may be a 5th official visit after Xavier and LSU as well (likely UConn) early next week. But, then the visits will be wrapped up. No signing of a LOI, just enroll into summer school, so there will be no more headfakes.
If you are one to believe message board chatter, LSU fans will like this one... Noel Johnson did not go to Xavier. Rumor is that Xavier "cancelled" the visit. In any case, rumor mongers can read the Xavier thread and start speculations... :wink: Noel Johnson? - Page 12 - Xavier Message Board My take is that the distance, the fit, and the overall need for the Johnson family to just focus on what is right and good in the world, has caused them to bypass the Muskateers and just focus on visiting Tiger town this weekend. :thumb:
FWIW Coach Johnson said we are in very good shape with an Atlanta recruit that he couldn't name but he said he liked his last name. This was at the Tiger Tour in Atlanta yesterday.
