and part of that poor coaching is letting Chris take 30 shots a game, become a 1st team all-american, and get drafted 3rd overall. like i said, nothing but good for Chris.

Maybe I'm fooling myself, but is our chance to land Noel Johnson pretty good? Georgia Tech had seven schollies to give this year, and gave six. They have a committed class of some pretty high-profile names, two of which could play Noel's position (Glen Rice's son, and Brian Oliver).

Georgia Tech Basketball Recruiting 2009 - ESPN

With Delwan Graham's premature departure, we essentially have a pretty big gap in the wing position. Sure, Tas' could come back and get minutes at SF, but NJ could legitimately start at 3 and switch time with Tas who may be at 4, when LSU needed him down low, or with Dotson at the 2. The only other depth there is Alex Farrer or walk-on Kingsley. Eddie Ludwig could probably play 4 given his height, and neither Green or Harris would play 3. I know Noel wants to play closer to home, but man, he would get a lot of PT at LSU, if that's what he's after.

:geauxtige:geauxtige NJ, ... BE A PART OF THE TRENT JOHNSON ERA.

Yor guess is as good as mine but I would say we have a lot in our favor with Chris Jackson and 2 former teammates on LSU's team from his AAU team to go along with the chance for him to get early playing time.

GT is closer to home but that did not stop him from committing to USC before.

Just a couple of questions from a fan who is wondering what is LSU basketball gonna be like next year.. Whose fault is it that we can only recruit players who are gonna be here for the full four years? Why is LSU on the edge with these dropout or transfer rules? I feel we are gonna be a bit weak this coming year because we didn't get any outstanding (4-5*) recruits. I noticed that Miss State Has recruited two centers for next year - one is a 4* over 7 foot tall & Kentucky seems to be getting everyone they want. Everyone seems to be getting stronger for next year except for LSU. How long will this problem affect us? Looking at the recruiting sites I see that there are still a few players still out there but LSU is not listed by anyones name. I love LSU basketball & am really wondering how bad we are gonna be next year under the current conditions.. Won't a bad year affect future recruiting negatively??

THis is nobody's "fault". CTJ has chosen to target these type of program kids with his recruiting efforts.

LSU is not in danger APR wise. CTJ assured that with his kids' academic performance this past year.

They got Sidney who only left USC because of the situation over there. Stansbury takes chances on marginal kids.

How long until they get on probation? Calipari is a known cheater.

We will most likely be down a bit, but we could still get Noel Johnson and nobody knows how good Aaron Dotson will truly be. Nobody knows how a Garrett Green or a Dennis Harris will play in a CTJ system.

I'm predicting 8-8 in conference, but the team could certainly do much better. LSU won't be a losing program under CTJ, and I think recruits will see what he brings over the next few years.

IF Tasmin comes back and we get Noel Johnson, and Green/Harris step up, and Dotson scores 12 to 15 a game, we will have a good chance to win the conference again.

That dude is very critical of the basketball team. I'm not saying his negative, but he doesn't cut em any slack.
