My guess is it's going to be frustrating after this past year. But perhaps Bass and a few others will REALLY come on...
I'm not expecting last years results but i'm not giving up on this years team. We have a smart coach and that goes a long way. And It's not like the team we have coming back sucks!
Woah!!! Hold the presses on 2009... Could there be some hope yet? It is now reported that Noel Johnson, a 6'7" SF out of Atlanta who had committed to USC and Tim Floyd will be asking for a release... BLOG.NORTHSTARBBALL.COM: BREAKING NEWS!!! Noel Johnson to Ask for Release from USC & Consider Four LSU is actually rumored to be in his top 4. Oh, lordie, this would be a shot in the arm, and so perfect for next year's team. Noel could immediately help and get playing time. Trent, time to get in there and close one!
That would be a nice pick up! I wonder if CTJ is in the ear of Latavious Williams who hasn't signed and once listed LSU... Its worth a try!
Yeah, you pick up Noel Johnson, Tasmin comes back, and suddenly we're looking pretty good for next year.
If you have Rivals, read the topic on Noel Johnson on the Message Board. A Kentucky fan posted that the word is he's LSU-bound because Chris Jackson's advising his family. Speaking of Chris Jackson, when are we gonna retire his number? Sure, he hates America and vice-versa blah blah blah, but he had one hell of a career here and deserves to be up there with Petitte, Shaq, Pistol, and new addition Rudy Macklin.
Amen. Of all the LSU jerseys one could have, I dusted off my #35 LSU jersey out of the closet the other day. Chris Jackson really was an important recruit and player in those bridge years from the 80s to the 90s. :thumb: I'm glad (if rumors are true) that he's still working to promote LSU. He was always such a genuine humble kid, and his success is still an incredible influence on Mississippi and perhaps southeast hoops. I'm not about to concede that LSU has Noel Johnson wrapped up. This is a very nice recruit who would fit into Trent's system perfectly. An intelligent but athletic kid with good skills, especially the jump shot. He has an offer from Harvard. If you go back to the beginning of this thread, you'll see none other than Mr. Johnson talked about when we started this whole thing. I wonder if Dennis Harris knows him... he is a member of the Atlanta Celtics AAU team. C'mon Trent, we've got to try harder on this one!
Don't see that happening. The anti-America stuff would make it a bad PR move, but the practical side of the matter is that he was only here for 2 years and did not graduate. All of those other guys played 4 years and graduated, except for Shaq, who stayed 3 and came back for his degree later.
