Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Trent Johnson has very strong ties to Dotson's HS coach and especially his AAU coach who is from BR and Johnson recruited and signed his brother-in-law at Stanford. Sounds like he wants to leave the area and make a name for himself.
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Trent Johnson is going after 7'0'' 255 pound freak of nature Bawa Munuri. http://louisianastate.scout.com/a.z...http://louisianastate.scout.com/2/770088.html I don't have scout, though, but it does say that his role model is Shaq. As a junior, he averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks a game. On his 'true' senior year, his averages dipped down to 16.6, 8.9, and 2.8 However, on Rivals, he's listed as 6'9'' 230. http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=37966&sport=2
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) OMG! with his definition, if he's 7' 255 lbs then the SEC is gonna get some shots blocked.

Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) "By Joshua Motenko (motenko.scout at gmail.com) NBADraft.net I was standing on the sidelines of the IUPUI gymnasium in Indianapolis, Indiana waiting for Nike’s All America Camp 3-on-3 tournament to begin. Forty or so players were sitting at center court awaiting another test of their ability, and the eyes of scouts who would be judging them. I first identified Bawa Maniru because of his striking appearance – its difficult not to notice the tallest, strongest player in the room. His large hands hung low just above his knees, and were held up by massive shoulders and bulging, defined biceps. Even his jaw line was strong. However, Bawa stood out for other reasons as well. " long article (two years old though) about him here. http://www.africabasket.com/GHA/GHA.asp?NewsNo=12
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Look at the guns on that guy....I'm gonna have to go out on a limb and say he weighs a little more than Chris Johnson.
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) More from the Peach Jam on several LSU targets... http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=828293 It also appears that Tommy Mason Griffin is just lighting it up... I hate to see us lose this kid but that's how the ball bounces... i really want to see how Chris Bass would compare. TG is no doubt a more polished scorer but i wonder if Chris has an upside. http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=827608
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) I wouldn't call it a done deal by any means... sounds like there's a lot of time and ways this can go. http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=828231
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Did not mean to imply that because those change all the time. But for now we are in the lead.
