Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Are you saying this about Jacob? Not sure if I'd go that far. I consider Eddie Ludwig more of the must get. I remember Jacob when we were recruiting Darnell Lazare and I was wondering to myself why we weren't also in on Jacob. But, I've never seen the guy play so I'm not sure. Gumbo, I think the Juco route is just the way the kid can play faster, I believe. If I read the article right, by going the Juco route, he can play this year and be a recruit for 2009-10 season at a Div I school. If he went to LSU right away, he'd have to sit out a year and just attend practices, which doesn't help him with PT or exposure to other schools. I like this move, b/c CTJ can track him without burning a schollie--I'm not sure it's b/c the kid doesn't want to compete. If he's really all about LSU, he'll be in touch with us next year. Honestly, though, as a 6'7" 210 kid in 2009, he'd be matching up against Tas' (if he's still here) and Storm Warren. I think he'd be a just a depth addition right now--although the kid's played in SEC play before. I see Ludwig as a taller and more versatile guy that fits that spot if he signs. I actually think we need a space eater (6'9" and 240+ kind of guy) through a high school signing or JUCO more than another swing guy...
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Looks like the new hoops staff is out and about at the AAU tourneys as promised. This comes in from the Kentucky Hoopfest, which probably attracts mostly midwestern, but some southern interest. LSU assistants were reportedly there and interested in a 2009 point guard named Justin Jordan, from Indiana... http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=825929 http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=83171 Sound like CTJ's kind of PG? "Jordan ... showed an uncanny ability to get into the lane and use his body to finish. Also Jordan can stick the deep three and he values the ball."
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Here's some interesting news. LSU is now listed as the only 'high' school for Latavious Williams on scout. http://louisianastate.scout.com/a.z?s=107&p=8&c=1&nid=3821262 Also, this European center impressed LSU coaches at a recent tournament. http://louisianastate.scout.com/a.z?s=107&p=8&c=1&nid=3765115 http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=826377
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) Can't get into specifics but I would not get my hopes up for Ludwig coming to LSU.
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) We just offered this guy, but are we really expecting to get him here all the way from Washington? http://louisianastate.scout.com/a.z?s=107&p=8&c=1&nid=2648750
Re: Hoops Recruiting (2009) There offering so many kids across the nation, its crazy. A kid from Seattle would be nice.
