I think some of these guys are so vested in it that it affects their lives. That has to be it, there is no other excuse for people pitching this big of a fit over someone saying so and so can't coach. Especially when it's true.
I wouldn't be pitching a bitch if we were performing like the 36th best team in the nation, or at least not like I am. Actually impressed that we're paying that much and disappointed in the returns even more.
nope, as indicated by the comment I made to you "great post"....and in I was totally agreeing with what you said
Do you think it's possible that the other players see his lack of attention to the academic side and it affects the team chemistry because one player is being treated differently than others? By treated differently, I mean held to a different standard. I can see that because I've seen it before. You may remember conversations about a decade ago when I was pointing to Brodie Croyle's treatment being disruptive (putting it mildly) back in the Shula era.
That's a lack of leadership on Jones then. College basketball coach seems like a pretty tough job, tho.
Joe Lunardi has LSU on the Next Out list that comes AFTER the Last 4 Out list. So, needless to say, it's going to be a tough uphill climb.
Lunardi is the only one still giving them a chance. At this point, they need to get to 20 wins to remotely be considered. Thats a longshot given Hornsbys injury and the effort put out the last 2 games.
one player isnt going to affect shit. they know hes one and done. it may isolate him from the team to some level but i doubt they really care. this is a short term relationship for all involved. but they certainly arent playing as a team at the moment so maybe im wrong. at uk this is normal since everyones one and done. they likely all hang out at the bar together during the week. but this going to class thing is stupid. was hard enough going when i was trying to get a degree. cant imagine with 100 million coming and knowing its pointless. aint no way. if he goes to each class once a week he deserves an award.
