ND was a tall order, wasn't going to happen. Marquette is pretty good. A win would have been nice but it didn't happen. a nice win over Mich is good and Wade can use this. Good trip. Better th an vcu who only beat a team that loses to Chiminade.
Sure. Can’t expect Wade to be an alchemist. Michigan got my hopes up, but I think I’m back down to where I should be. Wade has a lot of work to do.
Agree fully. Everyone started watching Waters too much in mid-second half, then the pressure of being behind by double digits got them to throw up too many 3s, Waters included. Obviously, Sampson being out hurt. Gotta build some chemistry, learn your strengths and build on that. Don’t see this as a last place SEC team, though. Waters alone won’t let that happen. They’re young but talented. Could see this team end up middle of the pack and possibly make SEC tourney, once they gel, and find the lineups that work well together.
Sampson on D and boards was a quiet difference maker; also not a liability on offense. Miir didn’t do a ton, but he looks crazy athletic, full of hustle, and long; he has a ton of potential. Future is bright, just hope Wade can match his off-court prowess on the court. These last two performances were nothing to write home about. I hope he can get the team’s attention, they looked lost following the great game vs Michigan. It looks like if you shut down the rest of the team and let Waters get his, we are probably going to struggle. Problem is, I think Marquette was trying to shut down Waters (couldn’t) and the rest of the team still couldn’t do squat. Also curious how many 3s we’ve given up the past two games. Perimeter D was ass, and D in general kinda sucked.
Yes but work is what he does. Stuff like this gets kids attention. Will knows how to make the most of come to Jesus moments.
