there was some pretty good passing. neither eason nor reid were great at finishing when a guard found them under the hoop. i dont agree the offense has to get much better, if you are gonna play defense at a level that makes the other team miss so many shots, and even have shot clock violations and rushed late hail mary shots. in terms of what to "expect", its really about wins. not offense or defense necessarily but the scoreboard. last couple years when offense was blazing and stats were off the charts, you guys were still down on it purely for not liking the style of offense. winning ugly counts as winning. nd its maybe a more consistent way to win, as defense doesnt slump as much. win with awesome defense and barely adequate offense and you are a dangerous team. 13-1 is 13-1. i am wating for the updated NET rankings to come out. LSU will be a top 5 team. again i remind you, this is basketball, you dont go undefeated. you get a win and you celebrate. if the win is vs KY you celebrate extra, no point in nitpicking.
6'11 guys that are ace shooters are called NBA all stars. reid is 55% from the floor and and hit another three to sit at 44% for the season beyond the arc. kentuckys big guy is a rebound specialist that cant throw it in the ocean. i get the impression you wouldnt be happy unless team was 3 kawhis and two durants.
more likely yes, but ask 2019 national champs UVA if defense win titles. they were beating people 62-57 all year en route to cutting down the nets.
he needs to be more aggressive and decisive for sure. but he is a freshman big in literally his first ever home SEC game. big men generally dont show up on campus with game like joel embiid. naz reid was a destroyer by the end of his year and he started by bricklaying layups all over the court. teams will come to know efton can hit the 3 and he will be able to pull big men out with him, opening the game up for everyone else to take it to the rack.
