There are 5 teams ranked in the Top 25. There are 10 teams with a W/L record of 9 - 3 or better. Let's see how we stand after the next 10 games. I'll be happy with 7 - 3.
i have been to every home game, plus at nicholls, and the crowds are getting pretty good. for lipscomb, an awful opponent on a holiday weeknight with students out of town, it was great. unfortunately, kentucky game is the same time as the bowl game. but from there on i expect the PMAC to be absolute blazing for the SEC. should be like something we have not seen in years, maybe a decade even.
From a geaux247 article: The Tigers had not shot over 33 percent from 3-point range as a team since the third game of the year and ranked 285th in the country in 3-point percentage. I expect better offense. Bad offense is going to make winning against solid SEC teams difficult. Glad to report WW feels the same, at least in public. I remember Les Miles pissing away seasons where our defense was excellent because the offense was putrid.
i see, so you believe the goal is not to win, but to score lots of points? who do you think is better, a team that wins 99-98, or 78-50? would you rather be better at winning scoring differential than offense? seems to me a team that is 5th of 14 in the league in scoring and tops in the nation in defense, and number 2 in points differential, and also undefeated, is scoring just fine. 5th of 14 is not acceptable? you require tops in both offense and defense? you expect every player to be either lebron or jordan? https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/stat/average-scoring-margin only baylor has a better scoring differential. they are the defending champions, and they aonly lost one game. to LSU, in a scrimmage. if they scored 0.6 more points per game, they would lead the country in scoring differential over baylor. would that be enough offense or must they not only be the most dominant team in the country or must they do it by scoring 90+? if you have a choice of two recruits, one makes your offense 3 points better, but defense 7 points worse, he brings less to the team than the one that makes the offense 1 point worse, but the defense 10 points better. not every player is kawhi. we shoudnt "expect more", when the team is performing at this level. undefeated elites with the best defense in the nation, and the 2nd best pts differential, and the best team in the league since wade arrived and installed his own team. bama scores alot. they just lost to davidson. and two other times. kentucky scores alot. but not always. lost to notre dame when scoring only 62. LSU has never scored just 62 this year. and they have played many teams that tried desperately to slow the game to a crawl. the number of points you need to score is a sliding scale, based on how many you give up. they score plenty.
i live closer to campus than anyone, and even i dont actually get home in 2 hours. the times overlap and it will hurt attendance, as football is far more popular than basketball.
to what standard are you referring ? LSU is the league's most dominant team in the wade era. do you mean the long term (best in league) or short term (undefeated) standard? if we play to our standard, its the SEC that gets ripped. we are undefeated as well. the exact opposite of what you say is true, in multiple ways. no other team on the planet has won more games this season. per our standard.
