All of them improved? Thomas, Smart, Watford and Days all came to LSU as high 4 or 5 stars. All four declared for the draft last year and Thomas was the only one selected. IMO, Thomas got worse because all he did was shoot anytime he wanted and played no defense. He was drafted simply because of his scoring potential! Smart and Watford, which IMO regressed under WW's coaching, both went undrafted and Days returned because he knew he wasn't going to get drafted and he also won't get drafted this coming up year. I absolutely love Days, but his strength is not shooting threes, but using his big body to score or draw fouls down low. Highly ranked players come to LSU because they get paid well and they can do what they want on the court. WW even stated himself he needed to get more control of the players' shot selection. What? Well coached teams run an offense and take advantage of the other team's weaknesses, but WW offense is go one-on-one and create your own shot. That's street ball and will rarely compute to wins in college.
well in this case it has, as wade is among the top winners in the SEC over his career. you dont like to use wins as a metric for success, you want to imagine yourself to be a superior analyst that sees what others dont. and if we use wins as a metric, it smashes your theory that wade is no good. but the wise man knows the point of the game is to win. you seem like the kind of old person that likes women's basketball owing to its imagined superior fundamentals.
I wouldn't call it great recruiting, but more like putting more money in the shoe box. You should read the book called Texas A&M Recruiting Guide to Success authored by Jimbo Fisher because that's the Aggies' top recruiting strategy!
well i hope brain kelly realizes, like wade apparently has, that we should pay the most. seems like an important part of coaching these days, paying the most. good for wade for paying enough to get good recruits. that would suck if he was a cheapo like other coaches. wade seems to always be ahead of the curve.
KY without two key players and Tennessee before they figured it out. But they look good on paper. If we go 0-2 to finish out the regular season our resume might be examined a little closer.
LSU is a lock for the tourney and yes wade is correct in that it’s all for seeding now. the sect won’t matter that much if history is an indication… solid 6 seed today, could play to 5-7 depending on the finish…
and when the NCAA makes selections, they have a literal paper for each team. that paper will show the defense was elite for long stretches of the season, that they took some bad losses with the point guard down, but generally had a decent season in an awesome conference. if we are gonna diminish the KY win, we can also minimize the pinson-less losses. like i said a thousand times, my metric for success is to do 2 things. finish at or near the top of the SEC for rhe double bye, and make the tournament with a team that is fairly dangerous. they failed on count one but are looking great for count two. so be it. its a good season, with an even better season on the way. make the tournament every year, and roll the dice. do that every year and that is a successful program.
