Its pretty sad. If you watch the game within the game they are there, this is not coaching. This is exactly what I said it was a few weeks ago, we can't fucking shoot.

…we can’t fucking shoot LAYUPS. Part of coaching is teaching offense and fundamentals. I’ll give WW 21-22, but don’t follow it up with a shitty 22-23.

Let me offer you a question. Can you teach a player to shoot & score. I ask because that's what I was in High School many decades ago. A player who couldn't shoot & score, but hustled his ass off, played solid D, and created turnovers when given the right opportunity.

All this time, I thought shooting was a coachable skill.

reid reminds me of ben simmons late in a game. afraid to take it to the hoop. like is afraid of the foul line.

so many times they get it to him down low, which isnt easy, because he has granite hands, and i am sure he is gonna dunk it, and he fakes 9 times until 12 more defenders arrive, then loses it.

get ball, score ball. its simple. get the ball, go to the hoop and dunk it hard. easy. just do it stop hesitating, you are huge!

You're right, we can't. We leave SO MANY points at the rim and it is maddening! I agree with "fundamentals" in fact I looked at my son tonight and said "if I was Will Wade I would make them make 100 shots in a row by bouncing the ball off of the square on the backboard. Miss one and you are back to 0. WE DON'T DO THAT!!!!
At this level probably not. If Wade were to implement something like I noted above it is possible but at this level they should already be able to score without being told or taught how. Our team obviously sucks at it. We are just terrible at scoring the ball. This is not to say our offense is bad, it isn't. They move the ball, they could probably pass one or two more times but the shot selection isn't awful, the shots are!

There are things, set your feet, make sure the elbow is under the ball, put the cookie in the jar but none of these kids want to listen to that shit. That is all jump shot technique though, we can't score at the freaking basket. I love our defensive intensity, I love the skill on defense but damnit man, I've been saying it all season, you HAVE to put the ball in the basket and we just can't.
