absolute Domination by Kevin Gausman. pitched a Complete Game, 4-hit Shut Out, retiring 18 of his last 19 (including the last 13 straight). ended the game with two strikeouts in a row (was still throwing in the 90's in the 9th inning). had 7 strikeouts, zero walks

the last LSU pitcher to throw a complete game shut out was Louis Coleman

also, Nola got hit #17 for the Tigers, tying LSU's season-high hit total

Tiger radio named LSU's successful suicide squeeze as the play of the game (that was pretty cool to watch)

I wanna hear some opinions on LSU's chances of making the NCAA tournament. Do the Tigers get in if they don't make the SECT? We actually have the 4th or 5th best overall record in the SEC. Our league play record is what's really bad. Does our record plus the sweep of CSF warrant a Regional birth? I say we make it as a 4th seed.

It's possible. We would have to barely miss out on the SEC tournament.

we currently have a good argument for being one the 64 teams in the NCAAT: our overall win pct is #65 in the NCAA (it was #67 before we beat Tenn yesterday), while our RPI is in the #24 to #27 range (and RPI is one of the big factors they weigh in selecting the 64). sure our 9-16 record in the SEC isn't so hot, but we have lost 6 SEC games by only 1 run and 2 SEC games by only 2 runs

it's going to depend on how we finish. at first i heard there are 30 conference champs guaranteed spots in the NCAAT, leaving only 34 at-large teams, so it will depend on how our record and RPI stacks up against those other teams being considered for the 34. but, last night, the Cox announcers calling the game were discussing it, and they were saying it would depend on how many conference regular season champions also win their conference tournament, so i'm not sure how many teams automatically qualify
