The team was whoooping it up during that 7 run 8th inning but Manieri was just standing there at the end of the dugout still not looking pleased. I guess he wondered why we couldn't do things like that for the last 150 innings. This season is eating at him as it should.
It's disturbing and something Ive been saying for awhile. Even in the 8 run 8th mahtooks ball was the only solid hit. Bats or no bats good hitters make solid contact most of the time. It's hard to envision this team being able to beat a legit team in the postseason minus a 2-1 game. Although Hanover may be the best bunter I've seen.
For a long stretch, this team had nothing but singles. I think the in final game against AU and the midweek game against USM, LSU had a total of about 17 hits, with 14 singles. This team is also very fast, so they have more infield singles than I have ever seen.
