anyone mention zardon started and homered filling in for jared foster who flunked out, ending his LSU career? i was pretty surprised when they mentioned that at first pitch. also, ben mcdonald in for ronnie rantz? good swap. lyn rollins is over the top but it beats the alternative.
Zardon looked good. He ate some curve balls, slider too but his swing, its so unassuming. He doesn't swing for the fence, but it goes there. He will be a healthy at bat next season... when we are low on bats. Twins too. They should make the middle of the order look solid. Foster. What are you gonna do? Seems his bat was smarter than he was. He just became low end scout material.
He showed a decent glove, but he seemed too deliberate on his throws. There was one play when he had to stretch the glove, he held the runner at 3rd before the toss. Smart kid, but playing out of position is gonna take reps. Earlier in the season he showed a good arm at 3rd, so I feel he is gonna be fine by the regionals. Little more aggressive at the plate and he could be full stud by seasons end. I love ben mcdonald. He is a wealth of knowledge and has a huge amount of research on hand. Dude can break the rpi down every half inning. He does a good job at keeping other players interesting. Not an ounce of disrespect crosses his lips. He would be fun at parties.
