lange clearly has a dead arm. noticed this 3 starts ago. no snap on his breaking ball and fastball is still good. not used to throwing a long college season. needs another 10 day sabbatical. wait til he loses a game on the bases? that will be in a regional you then you will get the gist of it. difference between aggressive and whatever stupidity hes been doing lately. first time ive seen one dude be picked off 4 pitches in a row. makes the 3rd out at 3rd. this is a trend.
I'd like to see Lange on the Friday night rotation. Others don't like that but starting a series rather than following a win is a whole different mind set. Lange has shown he is a better pitcher with pressure. As for bregman, I don't disagree at all, just my preference with attitude. He has been a ball hog and I love that on the diamond against unranked teams, but his bag judgement follows suit. He has ran against better judgement and sometimes paid off. Great when you are playing Tulane. Not great when it is any of the other top 10 we could face in Hoover. I think Hoover defines what the the regionals will bring. UCLA aint fucking around, but we still gotta beat stoneybrook first. That is where I hope better judgement prevails.
No way he moves to Friday until he rectifies the control problems he has developed in the last month. Last night he struck out 2 and walked 5. That ain't the Lange of February and March.
Get off the stats for a moment and consider the mental aspect. We have the same pen that bails Poche out when he is short. A series start against mizzo ain't gonna kill nobody and probably proves Poche better after a win. Dunno till 5ou see it. If we can bat kade leadoff, we can do what we want. We are deep in the pen, just sayin
didnt look at stats. i looked at him dominate now struggle every other inning with control. they shut him down midseason to alleviate this. even kyle peterson made mention of it. his breaking ball is not the same. rest him then see where he stands. you dont want a friday night starter with a dead arm. period. even if hes serviceable. poche is in because hes a consistent strike thrower with effortless delivery. jake latz could be a key cog on this team if he returns to the pen without a hitch.
Latz is schedule to pitch in the midweek game in 2 weeks but I don't thing he is going to start and probably won't pitch more than 3 innings if that much. It would be a miracle if he is able to be of any help by the time of the regionals and superregional.

Them other Tigers. Got some medicine for ya. I take particular pride in facing another team whose mascot falls below the recorded standard.
