well played game. some great defense. will be a highlight or two on sportscenter. and some great pitching by lange and pearson. cant win em all in baseball. but this team has some toughness which is a good sign for postseason.
Not sure why Bauman was put in.........5 pitches, 2 runs, 1 loss. The guy he replaced did not let anyone on base, Maineri, still suspect on pitching changes.
Bouman was a matchup change. CPM likes matchup changes and it is good he can afford to have them. Shit happens. If he thinks he can get a lefty lefty matchup he will try. No harm in that. Stallings is nails as a closer and he got ate up in less than 10 pitches. Speaking in general, you simply cannot rely on a pitcher to have his stuff like it comes from coin operated machine. It is not a perfect world and for as damn near perfect as we played, that's just baseball. I don't have a problem with this loss. We hit well, pitched well and defense was awesome. Time for a rubber match, first one of the season and keep them rebs from scoring their 1st series win in BR since hair spray was popular for dudes.
worst second guess sport ever. stallings was gassed and he only learned that by experimenting back to back nights which he likely wont do again. this is how you learn who can do what as the season progresses. bullpen was almost perfect. these guys showed some grit which is good. the hitting kept finding gloves but they were smoking the ball around the park. this team is legit. hopefully they show they can put a loss behind them and take it home today. softball was up 9-0 after 1 i believe. then went extra innings tied 10-10. UF hit a slam to tie then LSU hit a slam to win by 4. crazy game. their rubber match is on the secn now.
