unfortunately, it was an off night and the team just didnt click. the bad calls sure didnt help any tho.
I agree...it was like we went away from the aggressive style of ball we have played of late. It was very weird. But this team is special, and I am happy to see the LSU flag flying in Omaha again. I PROMISED myself that I would be happy just being there, but it sucks when you know that you could have won against a team like UNC...we were in it with 2 outs in the 9th.
these comeback cats are just setting up the rest of the field. should come out smoking in the early game Tuesday. We just faced the best starter in the tourney, and 2 of our 1st 4 guys took him yard. Let's seee hwat Rice has.
We can win four in a row. We didn't play well and UNC had a pitcher who was pretty hot and we still were a few plays away from making this a game.
You betcha we can win four in a row, we have already proved that. :tigbas::tigbas::tigbas::tigbas::tigbas:
We lost because Dean, Clark, Landry, and Mitchell had terrible games at the plate, and every one of our pitchers got slapped around. Going into the CWS you would figure that our pitchers just wouldn't be up to snuff..... but I wouldn't figure that Clark and Dean would be waving at some of the absolute trash they were out there waving at. Landry and Mitchell continue to have terrible at-bats throughout postseason play. Move along folks, nothing to see here. Kudos to Hollander, who brings in yet another senior performance.
i watched the game at hooters in lafayette...probably my last time ever visiting that dump...they are catering to the basketball fan...you know them, the ones that dont spend any money? but, in the 6th inning, the "genius" manager takes the sound off the lsu game to put it on the "local" team from los angeles, or the local team from boston, in the nba game...in the first quarter! needless to say, there were a few uSl fans there pulling for their "local" team...unc.
Agree to an extent. If I recall though, Matt Clark went deep tonight...not like Dean o-ferd...the last out was struck well...just right at the first baseman. Give some credit to UNC's pitchers. The starter had some nasty breaking stuff. Bottom line, the call at first was similar (in terms of game changing) to the play in the first game of the super against UCI. Hopefully, the results will be similar in the next couple of games as those that followed that game.
